Kurashiki-DEN your gateway to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical District

Kurashiki (倉敷市 Kurashiki-shi) is a historic city located in western Okayama Prefecture, Japan, sitting on the Takahashi River, on the coast of the Inland Sea.

Kurashiki-Den is located right in front of the old merchant quarter called the Bikan historical district. There are still 17th century wooden warehouses (kura, 倉) painted white with traditional black tiles along a canal framed with weeping willows and filled with koi.

The area has no electric poles in order to make it more closely resemble the look of the Meiji period.

The map below shows how to get to our house from the train station. The BLUE track is the walking path through the covered pedestrian walk-way.

The RED track is the best way by taxi or private car.

(Note: you can click on the path to get the steps of the track)

This map is the view from above with the proximity to the Bikan Historical District.  Kurashiki-den is easily accessible being about 500 meters from the main  train station.
