Kurashiki-DEN
Kurashiki-DEN is located just outside the main entrance to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, where the glories of provincial Japan live on. Whatever you see here is Japanese beauty, clean and tidy houses along the canal, the white walls of its town-scape with traditional cuisine.
There are museums with older Western and Japanese architecture and the hospitality of the locals. Our historical lodging, dating from the Edo period, offers traditional accommodation with tatami (woven-straw floors) and futon bedding.
This is a quiet and charming place to stay with a wonderful location close to the sights of Kurashiki and perfectly located as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. If you planning to come to the Setouchi Triennale, make sure you book in advance as rooms fill up quickly.
The Setouchi Triennale is one of the largest contemporary arts events in the world. It is held over several months across 13 islands and the mainland and includes works from local and international artists. The Triennale lasts for eight months with three main sessions; the spring session runs from March to mid-April, the summer session runs from mid-July to early September, and the autumn session runs from October to early November.
